The present era belongs to Knowledge Societies with Quality Education being the
fundamental pillar of this structure. Therefore, quality education is most essential for the 21st century youth and capable teachers are the most important factor in the pursuit of this objective.

his truth was foreseen decades ago by Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, India’s former President, a great scholar and philosopher.

Born on 5th September, 1888, he was far ahead of his time when he said that Teachers should be the best minds in the country.

His birthday is celebrated in India as
Teachers’ Day every year to pay tribute to the contribution made by the teachers
to the society. Therefore, it becomes obligatory that teachers are nurtured, groomed and empowered to realize the dream of an educated and evolved society.

Just as education is a continuous process, likewise, the knowledge and skill
upgradation of teachers is also an ongoing process.

The National Education Policy
2020 talks about ensuring 50 hours of Continuous Professional Development
(CPD) in a year for the empowerment of teachers.

To fulfill this requirement, CBSE
Training Unit organizes Capacity Building Programmes for teachers through its 16
Centers of Excellence.

In this context, all the Principals of CBSE affiliated schools are requested to make continuous efforts towards making their teachers capable, empowered and skilled.

At the same time, it is worthwhile to recognize the valuable
contribution of teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day in all schools.

CBSE Training Unit looks forward to schools aiming for excellence in education
and holistic development of its students. They should strive to break the barriers
of geographical boundaries and functional hurdles to set the highest benchmarks
of learning.

In this endeavor, the CBSE Training Unit and all 16 Centers of
Excellence are always by the schools in support and cooperation.

Together, we will work in fulfilling the dream of an educated and enlightened society as envisioned in NEP 2020.
